Football Trials

Football trials are assessments where a player trains or plays in front of experienced coaches so a professional club can judge their level. Ours are for players who are serious about their football: ages 7–21 for football trials in the UK and Europe, 11–21 for women’s football trials and 16–23 for football trials in Asia. International players are welcome on every route.

Our football trials start with a review of the player, not a booking. After you register, we look at the player’s profile and videos, past clubs, eligibility, and passport and visa checks, and if the player meets the criteria, David has a phone call with the player and parents. We then agree the right route, either an individual trial with a professional club or a programme of matches, testing and feedback, and every player gets honest feedback on their level.

Yes, we run football trials in the UK, Europe and Asia, as well as women’s football trials in England. In the UK there are individual trials with professional clubs and a 10-day programme in the Midlands and North West; in Europe there are individual trials, including a 2-week trial in Spain; and in Asia there are trials with Thai League clubs, arranged by our Bangkok-based team. An individual trial suits older, more experienced players who are ready to train with a professional club, while a 10-day programme suits younger players or anyone who wants a full block of matches, testing and feedback. There is a 10-day programme in the UK and in Asia, and female players can join the Women’s Football Trial. If you are not sure which fits, register and we will advise once we have reviewed the player.

It depends on the route: the UK 10-day programme is from £1,175, the Women’s Football Trial is from £945 and the Asia 10-day programme is from USD $1,395. Individual trials, including all trials in Europe, have no set price. Each one depends on the review of the player’s profile and videos, past clubs, eligibility, and passport and visa checks, and once the player meets the criteria and David has spoken with the player and parents, we confirm the costs in writing.

No, a football trial is an assessment, not a holiday camp. Players train or play in professional club environments, are watched by experienced coaches and leave with a written player report and honest feedback on where their game is.

Yes, some players do sign after a trial, but no trial can guarantee a contract, because professional clubs make their own decisions. Anton Dudik and Joe Hunter both went from our 10-day programme to signing with clubs, and Ajdin Hrustic did not sign after his trials in England but was seen there and went on to win the Europa League. We never promise a named club or a contract, and you can read how other players got on in our success stories.

Yes, international players are very welcome and go through exactly the same review as everyone else. We check passports and visas early, and once a place is confirmed we can provide an invitation or support letter. For under-18s, a parent or guardian completes the registration and joins the call with David before anything is confirmed.
